United Kingdom, 2022 – SME News Magazine has announced the winners of the 2022 Managing Director of the Year Awards.
Leading a business is no trivial matter, especially considering the challenges faced by companies of all sizes over the last couple of years. Indeed, uncertainty remains seemingly ever on the horizon, creating an ever-shifting landscape with little in the way of stability. It’s a time of immense change, regardless of sector or market – a time where great leadership is a crucial foundation for those businesses still achieving success and growth.
It was with this very much in mind that the Managing Director of the Year Awards were launched. At a time when Managing Directors are being tested and facing obstacles at every turn, it is essential to stop for a moment and recognise those who are distinguishing themselves as extraordinary. Whether that be through driving change, implementing new policies, achieving growth, entering new markets or anything in between. Amazing work is being done up and down this country – let’s congratulate those spearheading it.
SME News prides itself on the validity of its awards and winners. The awards are given solely on merit and are awarded to commend those most deserving for their ingenuity and hard work, distinguishing them from their competitors and proving them worthy of recognition.

With a legacy of handling some of the UK’s most difficult building projects, there are few businesses more suited to providing solutions across a
range of disciplines than Capita Real Estate & Infrastructure (UK Project Delivery Portfolio of 300 staff, led by its senior Director - Tim Seabrook). The firm’s continued success, tacking problems across the industry, is why BUILD has named this company as One to Watch in the United Kingdom.

Tim Seabrook, director at Capita real estate & infrastructure, ended the year with a high as he was presented the Outstanding Achievement Award at the Annual Collaboration awards for 2017, by Lord David Evans, the Chairman and Head Judge for the Institute for Collaborative Working.

The awards ceremony, held in the House of Lords, was attended by over 200 members, guests and nominees.

On Tim’s award, the judges said:

“Tim's overall approach to collaborative working demands special recognition. Through evaluating a broad range of submissions across both the public and private sector, the judges unanimously agreed that the work undertaken in supply chain collaboration within the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO), driven by Tim Seabrook, warranted particular recognition for his efforts in developing a systemic approach to better harness the resources and capabilities of both government and industry to support our armed forces.”

Tim said: “I am honoured to have received this award and it is especially meaningful having been nominated by our client the MoD and seconded by a defence supplier industry association. I have thoroughly enjoyed working in the defence infrastructure sector over the last 3 1⁄2 years as part of the strategic business partner contract and am proud to have led a large scale construction & facilities mgt supply chain transformation programme which met key business objectives and resulted in the DIO becoming the first UK government organisation to achieve the new international standard ISO44001.”
